Red Ribbon Week -October 2023

The Red Ribbon Campaign is the oldest and largest drug prevention program in the nation, reaching millions of young people during Red Ribbon Week, October 23-31 each year.

 

Red Ribbon Week reaches over 80 million people each year. This year’s theme is to amplify the campaign’s mission to encourage children, families, and communities to live healthy, happy and drug-free lives.

 

This year’s theme is “Be Kind to Your Mind. Live Drug Free.™” Submitted by Danielle Helm, a Youth Service Coordinator from Russell County Middle School in Russell Springs, Kentucky. This year’s theme is a reminder that everyday Americans across the country make significant daily contributions to their communities by being the best they can be because they live Drug-Free!

Red Ribbon Week Luncheon Fundraiser

Join us on October 27th as we celebrate 66 serving our community with prevention, intervention, and recovery support services for children and adults.

 

A plated lunch will be served. Silent auction and raffle will be held with all proceeds to benefit SACADA’s programs for children and adults in Bexar and surrounding counties.

The San Antonio Council on Alcohol and Drug Awareness (SACADA) and the Air Force Band of the West – Top Flight invite you to rock out for Red Ribbon Week!

 

This FREE concert is open to all schools in and around Bexar County and has been held for 25 years. Registration (below) is required. Seating is limited and fills up quickly. There are five concerts held over three days!

Request Red Ribbon Presentations

Annually the San Antonio Council on Alcohol and Drug Awareness (SACADA) provides FREE presentations to the community. These presentations are age-appropriate and focus on the history of Red Ribbon Week and how to live a healthy and drug-free life.

SACADA receives hundreds of requests annually and will do its best to accommodate your request. ** Submission of a presentation request is not a confirmation**

Once a presentation is confirmed elementary schools will receive 500 ribbons and middle and high schools will receive 500 wristbands (based on availability). The presenter will deliver them on the day of the presentation or before.
