and Air Force Band of the West – Top Flight Kick Off Red Ribbon Week
SAN ANTONIO, TX – October 21, 2019 — The San Antonio Council on Alcohol and Drug Awareness (SACADA) and The Air Force Band of the West – Top Flight are once again joining forces to hold its annual Red Ribbon Rally Concert for local elementary students. Red Ribbon Week is an annual event nationwide where students and adults are encouraged to be aware of the dangers of drugs and alcohol. Concerts will take place at the Edgewood ISD Theatre of the Performing Arts, Tuesday, October 22nd (9:30 am and 12:15 pm), Wednesday, October 23rd (9:30 am), and, Thursday, October 24th (9:30 am and 12:15 pm).
SACADA and the Air Force Band of the West have been organizing the Red Ribbon Rally Concert for over 16 years. Last year the concert was able to reach 4,500 local San Antonio elementary students and chaperones.
This year, volunteers from several Air Force Units will help escort students to their seats. The presence of military gives the students a sense of pride and the opportunity to show appreciation to our military for all they do. “Red Ribbon Week gives us the opportunity to be vocal and visible in our efforts to achieve a safe and healthy community,” said Melissa Scott, Associate Youth Prevention Director with SACADA
Location: Edgewood Performing Arts Center, 402 Lance St, San Antonio, TX 78237
The San Antonio Council on Alcohol and Drug Awareness (SACADA) is a 501(c)(3) organization with the moto “PREVENTING problems with alcohol and other drugs before they occur, INTERVENING when they do, and PROMOTING RECOVERY for those who are addicted.”
