Volunteer

Thank you for your interest in volunteering with the San Antonio Council on Alcohol and Drug Awareness. We have opportunities to fit your time availability and talents. Volunteer activities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Label material for community health fairs and presentations;
  • Organize SACADA resource clearinghouse;
  • Prepare materials for prevention programs;
  • Assist with various program activities
Volunteer

Internship and Practicum students will be assigned to a specific program and will receive direction from the assigned supervisor.

You will then be contacted to arrange a brief orientation, after which you can begin your volunteer service. We appreciate your interest in volunteering!

Please note: Due to the nature of the services we provide, some volunteers are asked to submit to a background check and/or drug screening and sign a statement of confidentiality.

San Antonio Council on Alcohol and Drug Awareness is a drug-free/smoke-free workplace. No smoking is permitted anywhere on our campus.

Community Service

Community Service at San Antonio Council on Alcohol and Drug Awareness (SACADA) is on a scheduled basis. Individuals can schedule a time to come in by calling our front office at (210) 225-4741.
  • Community service hours are scheduled Tuesday – Thursday and individuals may choose between an 8:00 am – 12:00 pm shift or 1:00 pm – 5:00 pm shift.
  • Individuals may work up to 4 hours of community service at a time, no exceptions.
  • Individuals must be at least 16 years of age to complete community service at SACADA. Individuals under 18 years must have their parent or guardian sign a parental consent.
SACADA Community Service Dress Code
Allowed:
  • Shorts are allowed as long as they an appropriate length which is no shorter than an inch above the knee
  • T-shirts, long sleeve shirts
  • Sneakers, closed-toe shoes or closed toe sandals.
Not Allowed:
  • Caps/hats of any kind
  • Sagging pants or shorts
  • Short skirts or short shorts (anything shorter than 1 inch above the knee)
  • Gym shorts, tights, leggings, anything you would wear to a gym
  • See-through clothing
  • Low-cut blouses, shirts, tank tops or spaghetti strap tops
  • Negative advertising (shirts with alcohol, tobacco, or drug emblems or logos)
Not abiding by this dress code will result in the individual going home and rescheduling for a different date.
