Recovery Coaching and Support Services

Banner_WORC

SACADA provides recovery coaching and support services for those with or at risk of alcohol and drug problems by providing our clients both online and face to face options to connect with a peer recovery support specialist.

Our Recovery Coach staff supports both adult males and females in Bexar and the surrounding counties with the goal of increasing the prevalence and quality of long-term recovery from substance use disorders. Our coaches can help individuals establish linkages with community organizations that can assist them with accomplishing their long term life goals. Coaches provide role modeling and mentoring as a way of guiding individuals to find their own pathway to recovery.

Individuals can call directly to SACADA and request this service or you can log-on to www.RecoveryTexas.org and request to chat with a coach on-line.

Success Stories
  • My Recovery Coach Roger has helped me out more than words can describe. He is someone I can talk to when I need help or just to let him know what’s going on in my life. All my family lives in a different state. I’m not close to my family, so by having Roger, he has helped me through the good and bad times.

  • I thought I would never be able to kick the habit of my 10 year substance abuse problem. My Recovery Coach Roger Torres taught me how to live life without using substances or continuing to engage in self-defeating behaviors. Through his guidance and counseling I learned that my recovery depended on me to take action, to have self awareness, to keep the focus on me and to live one day at a time. Today I have complete control of my new-found life. I have a life that I can now look forward to living and I owe much gratitude and thanks to Mr. Torres.

  • Dear Grace, I am forever grateful that God has placed you in my path as a mentor, spiritual advisor, and friend. I appreciate all of the effort you put in on a daily basis. I know that I would not be where I am today without God working through you. Thank you for listening, thank you for caring, thank you for being patient. This teaches me to extend that back out into the world. I love you. One day at a time, even on days of uncertainty, God has a path for us to learn, grow, and be free.

    Shannon M., WORC Participant
  • WORC is making a difference in so many lives and I am so grateful. My father was an alcoholic who went through Hazelton and passed at 52, my daughter is a recovering alcoholic, and my son-in-law is currently in a treatment program (thanks to WORC). When he talked to a coach through this program he was so excited! He kept saying, “Wow! This guy is awesome. I hope I get in to treatment.” I believe WORC is crucial to recovery and key to educating our community. Again, thank you for your compassion and wisdom.
