School Based


SACADA Youth Program staff implements programs like Project Heart, Botvin Life Skills and Project Toward No Drug Abuse, in schools. At the close of last fiscal year 2011, the staff have educated 4,461 youth.  We know they are making a positive impact on the youth of San Antonio. We know not every child gets what they need from their home environment. Often times they experience too much at an early age and have a hard time understanding what has happened to them and around them.  Our prevention staff meets with elementary, middle and high school youth on a weekly basis teaching the importance of sharing their feelings, building their self-esteem, and building resiliency skills. Our staff does a great job showing youth how to be successful and make the right decisions, even when they live in an environment that doesn’t encourage them to do so.

During the 2011 – 2012 School year, SACADA has delivered curriculum to one or more schools in these districts:

  • Southwest ISD
  • South San ISD
  • Universal City/Shertz/Cibolo ISD
  • San Antonio ISD
  • North East ISD
  • Bexar County Juvenile Justice Alternative Education Program
